Imagine you and the love of your life saying “I DO” in the heart of Glacier National Park. The breeze blowing through your veil, the serene sound of the wild, and the mountains as your witnesses. I swear there is no better backdrop and no place more romantic than up in these mountains.
If you’ve decided that a Glacier National Park elopement is right for you, then this blog post was meant to find you. Hi, I’m Sarah, a Montana wedding and elopement photographer. Glacier Park is one of my favorite spots on Earth and has so much meaning to me. I have lived in this state since I was a kid and have spent a lot of time in this park. It truly is something special. I would love to document your special day here and help you through the process.

1) Special Use Permit
In order to have a ceremony inside Glacier National Park, you will want to obtain a special use permit. https://www.nps.gov/glac/planyourvisit/weddings.htm is the link to see rules/regulations surrounding your Glacier National Park ceremony and to also download and submit the application. The application is a $125 nonrefundable fee. Once you choose your preferred ceremony locations and the preferred date/times, you will send your application out. They accept applications for ceremony dates up to a year in advance. Ceremonies have a limit of 2 hours per approved application. You will want to print a copy of your approval and keep it on your person in charge the day of! I am happy to help with your application process 🙂
2) Vendor recommendations
Not from the area or don’t know how to start narrowing down your vendor options? I have a list of wedding vendors I have previously worked with that I love to recommend to each couple! I will only ever recommend vendors who previous couples loved working with and also recommend!
3) Weather
Being in the mountains means that the weather can change very suddenly. I can help with recommending the best time of year to elope here depending on what you’re going for, however you should always pack layers and expect the unexpected! The park weather can change drastically within the same day!
4) Safety
Be BEAR AWARE! Pack bear spray and be mindful of any food you are packing. Also be sure to always stay on the trail and practice trail etiquette by respecting the nature for everyone to enjoy! LEAVE NO TRACE 🙂
Glacier National Park is just so dang beautiful and there is nothing else on this earth quite like it. Glacier truly is the perfect place to say “I DO” and start your next adventure together. For any other questions about eloping in Glacier, press that inquire button! 🙂
